COMING THIS SPRING AT PETE'S TAVERN...
Our Beverage team has been hard at work and we're really excited to introduce the Bailey's Banana Colada! It's a frozen drink blending golden rum, Baileys, banana liqueur and a banana.
It tastes amazing and brings us back to fun summers at the former Cyril's Fish House in Montauk, where we first fell in love with the BBC. We hope you will be visiting soon to taste our homage to Cyril (RIP).
We are launching The 1864 Project, a way to collect your Pete's Tavern stories and memories. Please share with us at

FEATURED SUBMISSION:
My first experience at Pete's was in the late 1950s when I was dating one Susan Allersmeyer who lived on Gramercy Park. We first went to Pete's for pizza and a beer each but, alas and alack, we were a couple years short of the drinking age back then of 18. After our pizza and beers, we walked back to Gramercy Park, used Susan's key to get in the always locked gate in those days and found a nice place in the trees to sit and smooch.
We loved the place. It became "our place" and we have met there over the years, the last time just four years ago for a reunion when she came up from her home in South Carolina to visit her brother. The magic hadn't changed and so I hosted a gathering of journalists there a few years ago, colleagues of mine at the Hong Kong-based Asian Wall Street Journal and the Far Eastern Economic Review.
I've since taken to lunch and dinner high school classmates who reside in NY City when I get to Manhatten from Princeton, NJ, my home for 30-some years now after most of 20 years working as a journalist in Asia. And now I'd like to treat my Vietnam War Marine Corps buddies to a dinner at Pete's. It will be a pleasure to eat at Pete's but, I have to admit, not as much of a pleasure it was when I was 16 and buying my Gramercy Park girlfriend Susan a pizza and beer on the sly in anticipation of smooching with her later in the park.
